Tax, Fraud and AI in the Spotlight at UK Petra National Seminar

SURABAYA, DDTCNews – Petra Christian University (UK Petra) is set to host a national seminar titled Petra Agile & Integrity Forum: Compliance and Sustainability Growth.

The seminar will explore various aspects of compliance, integrity and sustainability in the business and financial sectors. The topic is particularly relevant given the growing importance of compliance in taxation, trade and digital finance to ensure that businesses grow in an ethical and sustainable manner.

Sponsored in part by DDTC, the forum will be divided into 3 sessions, each featuring a distinct theme. Session I will focus on Cybercrime, Fraud and Anti-Corruption: The Strategic Role of Banks and Law Enforcement in Safeguarding Financial Stability.

This session will feature three speakers: Head of the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office, Kuntadi; Senior Advisor for Fraud Banking Investigation at PT BCA, Wani Sabu; and Head of the East Java I Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DGCE), Untung Basuki.

Session II will address Global Trends in Tax Compliance, Sustainability, and Ethical Business Practices. Three speakers are scheduled for this session, including Chairperson of the Association of Indonesian Tax Centers and Tax Academics (Perkumpulan Tax Center dan Akademisi Pajak Seluruh Indonesia/PERTAPSI in Indonesian) and Founder of DDTC, Darussalam; Head of the East Java I Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT), Samingun; and Advisor to the Department of Accounting at UK Petra, Poltak Maruli John Liberty Hutagaol.

Session III will examine The Impact of Digitalisation and AI on Tax Policies in Indonesia: Challenges and Opportunities. This session will be delivered by the Director of DDTC Fiscal Research and Advisory, BB. Bawono Kristiaji and representatives from the DGT.

The seminar will take place on Tuesday (30/9/2025) from 08:30 to 16:00 (Waktu Indonesia Barat/WIB in Indonesian) in a hybrid format. Offline participants will attend the event at the Petra Convention Hall (main campus auditorium).

The event is open to the public with a registration fee of IDR50,000. Registration can be completed via petra.id/PendaftaranPAIF2025 webpage, where payment instructions are also provided.

Attendance at the seminar is mandatory for participants of the 2025 Surabaya Tax Center Forum Olympiad (Olimpiade Forum Tax Center Surabaya/OFTCS in Indonesian), as the materials presented will serve as references for the semifinal and final rounds of OFTCS 2025.

On another note, OFTCS 2025 is a taxation competition involving university students from various higher education institutions across East Java.

In addition to gaining valuable insights, seminar participants will also have the opportunity to receive DDTC’s latest publication. Five copies of the book Konsep dan Aplikasi Pajak Penghasilan edisi Kedua will be awarded to 5 participants who submit the best comments in the comment section of this news article.
