IAI to Hold ITC 2025 on Global Tax Complexities in the Digital Era

JAKARTA, DDTCNews – The Tax Accountant Compartment of the Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants (Kompartemen Akuntan Perpajakan Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia/KAPj IAI in Indonesian), in collaboration with Moody’s, will host the International Tax Conference (ITC) 2025.

Konferensi bertajuk Navigating International Tax Complexities in the Age of Technology Innovation and Economic Volatility ini akan digelar pada Kamis 28 Agustus 2025 pukul 09.00 – 17.00 WIB. Acara ini bakal dilaksanakan secara luring (offline) bertempat di DoubleTree Hotel Surabaya.

The conference, themed Navigating International Tax Complexities in the Age of Technology Innovation and Economic Volatility, is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 28 August 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (Waktu Indonesia Barat/WIB in Indonesian). The event will be held offline at the DoubleTree Hotel Surabaya.

The conference will feature a keynote speech by the Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto. Opening remarks will be delivered by Roy Chan, Head of Corporates and Government (ASEAN) at Moody’s and Ardan Adiperdana, Chairperson of the National Executive Board of IAI.

Meanwhile, John Hutagaol, Chairperson of KAPj IAI, is scheduled to deliver the closing remarks.

To explore the conference theme, the event will be structured as a series of panel discussions. In total, ITC 2025 will comprise 4 panel discussion sessions featuring 16 speakers, along with 1 presentation session delivered by a single speaker.

One of the speakers scheduled to attend is B. Bawono Kristiaji, Director of DDTC Fiscal Research & Advisory. The following is a detailed breakdown of the themes, speakers, and moderators for each session.

First, Panel Discussion 1: Progress of Pillar Two in Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific. This session will be moderated by the University of Indonesia lecturer Christine Tjen. The 4 speakers in the first session include:

  1. Senior International Tax Analyst of the Directorate General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy (Direktorat Jenderal Strategi Ekonomi dan Fiskal/DJSF in Indonesian), Melani Dwi Astuti;
  2. Chief Group Tax, PT Astra International, Ivan Budiarnawan;
  3. Alvarez & Marsal Indonesia, Jacob Zwaan; and
  4. International Programs of the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Timothy Smith.

Kedua, Panel Discussion 2: Cross Border Digital Economy Transaction. Sesi ini akan dimoderatori oleh TP & International Tax Manager Roedl & Partner Indonesia Reinaldo Samuel A. P. Sitorus. Ada 4 pembicara pada sesi kedua, yaitu:

Second, Panel Discussion 2: Cross-Border Digital Economy Transactions. The session will be moderated by Reinaldo Samuel A. P. Sitorus, Transfer Pricing and International Tax Manager at Rödl & Partner Indonesia. The second session will feature 4 speakers, including:

  1. Head of the Subdirectorate for International Tax Cooperation Agreements, Directorate of International Taxation, Directorate General of Taxes (DGT), Leli Listianawati;
  2. Partner of SF Consulting member of Crowe Indonesia, Ratna Febrina;
  3. Vice Dean and Head of the Taxation Programme of the Singapore University of Social Science, Darren Koh; and
  4. Partner Economic Laws Practice (ELP) of PB Taxand India, Rahul Charkha

Following this session, Chua Choon Hong, Head of the Financial Crime Practice Group for Asia Pacific and the Middle East at Moody’s, will deliver a presentation titled Combating the Underground Economy.

Third, Panel Discussion 3: Current Issues in Transfer Pricing Compliance and Dispute Resolution. This session will be moderated by Martua Eliakim Tambunan, a member of KAPj IAI. The 4 speakers in the third session are:

  1. Head of the Subdirectorate for Prevention and Handling of International Tax Disputes of the DGT, Agus Kuncara;
  2. Managing Partner of PB Taxand, Taxand Asia Pacific Leader, Permana Adi Saputra;
  3. Representative of ASEAN & Oceania of OECD, Melinda Brown; and
  4. EY Global Tax Controversy Leader, Luis Coronado.

Fourth, Panel Discussion 4: The Impact of Donald Trump’s Presidency on International Tax Policies. This session is moderated by Gita Arasy Harwida, a member of IAI East Java Chapter. The fourth session will feature 4 speakers, including:

  1. Head of Australia Economics of Moody's, Sunny Kim Nguyen;
  2. Director of DDTC Fiscal Research & Advisory, B. Bawono Kristiaji;
  3. Director of Capacity Building of IBFD, Victor van Kommer; dan
  4. Airlangga Lecturer University, Wasiaturrahma.

The conference is open to IAI members and the general public. Registration fees are set at IDR500,000 for junior IAI members, IDR1,450,000 for associate IAI members and IDR1,450,000 for full IAI members.
