JAKARTA, DDTCNews – The Faculty of Economics and Business (Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis/FEB in Indonesian), University of Indonesia (UI), in collaboration with DDTC, will hold a National Seminar and the Launch of the FEB UI Tax Clinic focusing on cooperative compliance.
Carrying the theme Reinventing Tax Compliance: From Enforcement to Cooperative Compliance, the seminar is highly relevant amidst the ongoing shift in tax compliance paradigms, namely from a confrontational, enforcement-based approach towards a more collaborative model, commonly referred to as cooperative compliance.
Cooperative compliance promotes a more transparent relationship between the tax authority and taxpayers, focusing on transparency, dispute prevention and trust-building through dialogue and cooperation.
In practice, cooperative compliance programmes are only available to taxpayers classified as compliant. The key challenge lies in defining clear and objective criteria for determining compliant taxpayers. At the same time, tax law enforcement remains applicable to taxpayers deemed intentionally non-compliant or persistently non-compliant.
To address these issues, the event will feature Director General of Taxes, Bimo Wijayanto, and the Director General of Financial Sector Stability and Development, Masyita Crystallin, as keynote speakers. The seminar will also present 3 speakers.
First, Yon Arsal, Assistant to the Minister for Tax Compliance Affairs. Second, Erawati, Director of Financial Profession Development and Supervision (Pembinaan dan Pengawasan Profesi Keuangan/P2PK in Indonesian). Third, Yulianti, Dean of FEB UI. Fourth, Darussalam, Founder of DDTC.
The seminar will be moderated by Christine Tjen, Coordinator of TERC FEB UI. The event is scheduled to take place on Monday, 17 November 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (Waktu Indonesia Barat/WIB in Indonesian) and will be held offline at the UI Auditorium.
In addition to gaining valuable insights, participants will have the opportunity to win door prizes in the form of exclusive DDTC-published books. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
