The topic is particularly relevant in light of recent developments, as the Tax Amnesty Draft Law has been included in the 2025 National Legislative Programme (Program Legislasi Nasional/Prolegnas in Indonesian) as an initiative of Commission XI of the House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat/DPR in Indonesian), following agreement on 19 November 2024.
Chairperson of Commission XI, Mukhamad Misbakhun, previously stated that the Tax Amnesty Draft Law is intended to provide taxpayers with an opportunity to rectify past non-compliance.
He also noted that the Tax Amnesty Draft Law constitutes part of efforts to support the vision and mission of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. Should tax amnesty become an integral component of the agenda, the Draft Law related to the programme must be duly prepared. (rig)
