JAKARTA, DDTCNews - Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, inaugurated hundreds of echelon II and echelon III officials as well as heads of institutions within the Ministry of Finance (MoF), on Thursday (10/9/2026).

The inaugurated officials include those from the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT). The inauguration was carried out pursuant to Minister of Finance Decree (MoF Decree) 176/2026 concerning the Transfer and Appointment to Primary Executive Official Position within the Ministry of Finance.

"This inauguration is not merely a change of position or a change of workplace, but is part of an organisational process to ensure the Ministry of Finance continues to move forward, adapt and perform increasingly well," he said at the inauguration ceremony at the MoF Building.

Purbaya affirmed that the newly inaugurated officials and functional officials play a pivotal role in ensuring the state budget operates more swiftly and accurately in driving the economy.

According to him, the strengthening of that role is in line with the direction he has communicated since taking office as the minister of Finance .

In addition, Purbaya called on MoF human resources to drive increases in state revenue without imposing new burdens on the public. The quality of state expenditure also needs to be improved, accompanied by enhancements to the tax system so that services to the public become increasingly optimised.

"There are still business processes that must be improved, services that must be accelerated, revenues that must be strengthened and expenditure quality that must continually be enhanced," he said.

Entering his second year as the minister of finance , Purbaya also urged all MoF officials not to be complacent. He stated that the institution needs to move more quickly, particularly in resolving issues and making decisions.

To support this objective, the MoF carried out rotations, transfers, promotions and position placements across various units. Purbaya stated that officials assuming new positions have been selected based on their individual capabilities and professionalism.

"A healthy organisation must not be static; we need to refresh; we need to give good people the opportunity to take on greater responsibility. We also need to place the right people in the right positions, according to the challenges we face," he said.

Purbaya affirmed that rotations and transfers are not an end in themselves. He stated that what is more important is the positive change that the new officials and functional officials bring to the advancement of the institution and the nation. (dik)
