JAKARTA, DDTCNews - Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara has said that three deputy ministers of finance will work together to support the ministry of finance (MoF) in carrying out its functions.

Suahasil made these remarks following President Prabowo Subianto's swearing-in of Nurkholisoh Ibnu Aman and Luky Alfirman as deputy ministers of finance for the remainder of the 2024–2029 term. Previously, Juda Agung had also taken up the position of deputy minister of finance.

"Each has been appointed as deputy minister of finance. As such, the three of us, with me as the minister of finance, will certainly sit down together and look at the full scope of the MoF's work, which is so comprehensive, and then we will complement one another; that is something we will formulate in due course," he said, as quoted on Friday (2/10/2026).

Suahasil said the division of duties among the deputy ministers would be discussed collectively, taking into account the full scope of the MoF's highly comprehensive tasks and functions.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Finance Luky Alfirman said he was ready to work alongside MoF staff to address the various challenges at hand.

Luky noted that his experience at the MoF had given him an understanding of some of the challenges facing the ministry. However, he acknowledged that he would need time to catch up on the latest developments after a period of "hibernation".

He also requested support from MoF staff to help him catch up with recent developments.

According to Luky, there are at least 3 agenda items that will serve as a shared focus in the near term. First, completing the implementation of the 2026 state budget, which is drawing to a close.

Second, preparing for the implementation of the 2027 state budget, which has just been approved by the House of Representatives. Third, internal consolidation to continue driving reform within the MoF.

"We know the challenges ... I am confident that together we will be able to manage them," he said.

Deputy Minister of Finance, Nurkholisoh Ibnu Aman, for his part, said his appointment as deputy minister represented a new responsibility after approximately 20 years of service at Bank Indonesia (BI). He acknowledged being fairly familiar with the MoF environment, as his career at the central bank had frequently involved coordination with the MoF.

He had even been intensively involved in the establishment of the Financial System Stability Coordination Forum (Forum Koordinasi Stabilitas Sistem Keuangan/FKSSK in Indonesian).

Now, having been entrusted with the role of deputy minister, Nurkholisoh acknowledged that he still needs to learn a great deal about the MoF's core duties and functions as well as its organisational structure. He also requested the support and cooperation of MoF staff in helping him understand these matters.

"I will be learning a great deal about the subjects that constitute the core duties of the ministry of finance, of course, but also about the organisation of this ministry. Because I believe in organisational effectiveness," he said. (dik)
