JAKARTA, DDTCNews – Realised tax revenue to the end of August 2026 reached IDR1,409 trillion, or 59.8% of the target set in the 2026 state budget of IDR2,357.7 trillion.

Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, said the realised tax revenue grew by 24.1% compared with the same period last year.

"The growth rate is 24.1%. Non-oil-and-gas income tax grew at a healthy 16.6%, and VAT and STLGs grew at a very healthy 38.9%," he said at the APBN KiTa press conference for the September 2026 edition, held today, Friday (18/9/2026).

In greater detail, realised non-oil-and-gas income tax revenue reached IDR722.2 trillion. Meanwhile, realised value added tax (VAT) and sales tax on luxury goods (STLGs) revenue amounted to IDR591.5 trillion.

Further, realised oil-and-gas income tax revenue reached IDR39 trillion, up 70.6%. Meanwhile, remittances of land and building tax and other taxes were recorded at IDR56.4 trillion, down 15.7%.

"Our tax revenue continues to grow in line with ongoing increases in economic activity. Demand for cement, electricity, cars and motorcycles is growing. This implies economic activity is growing," said Suahasil.

Suahasil explained that the growth in realised non-oil-and-gas income tax revenue was in line with increased economic activity and strengthened tax administration. Meanwhile, the growth in VAT and STLGs was attributed to strengthening consumption.

Further, the growth in VAT revenue was also attributable to refund management in the wholesale trade sector. This was reflected in domestic VAT revenues reaching IDR259.1 trillion, up 53.9%.

"I wish to state that refund management is being carried out in accordance with the applicable provisions. The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) is implementing refund management pursuant to the provisions; compliance is indeed what we require," said Suahasil. (rig)
