State Budget Deficit of IDR319 T, Minister of Finance: Still on Track

JAKARTA, DDTCNews - Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, has reported that the 2026 state budget recorded a deficit of IDR319 trillion, equivalent to 1.24% of gross domestic product (GDP), as at 30 September 2026.

Suahasil said the budget performance is sufficiently sound and on track. He noted that the state budget was designed from the outset with a deficit posture of 2.68%, and is projected to reach 2.85% by year-end.

"The current deficit is IDR319.0 trillion, or 1.24% of GDP, and this will move towards 2.68% and towards 2.85% of GDP as we reported in the Semi-Annual Report. This is on track," he said on Friday (9/10/2026).

Through 30 September 2026, state revenues had accumulated to IDR2,341.5 trillion, equivalent to 74.2% of the 2026 state budget target. Meanwhile, the realisation of state expenditure reached IDR2,660.5 trillion, equivalent to 69% of the target.

Suahasil further detailed that state revenues comprised tax revenues realised at IDR1,847.7 trillion.

The tax revenues component included tax receipts of IDR1,607.7 trillion, representing growth of 24.1% compared with the same period last year. The realisation of tax receipts reached 68.2% of the state budget target of IDR2,357.7 trillion.

Customs and excise revenues collected amounted to IDR240.1 trillion, growing 8.5%. This realisation reached 71.5% of the state budget target of IDR336 trillion.

Non-tax state revenues (penerimaan negara bukan pajak/PNBP in Indonesian) were realised at IDR492.3 trillion, growing 41.7%. PNBP performance surpassed 107.2% of the state budget target of IDR459.2 trillion.

Meanwhile, state expenditure was realised at IDR2,660.5 trillion, growing 19%. State expenditure comprises central government spending, namely ministerial/institutional (K/L) and non-K/L expenditure.

K/L expenditure was recorded at IDR1,069.4 trillion, growing 33.5%, whilst non-K/L expenditure was recorded at IDR991.9 trillion, growing 25.7%.

State expenditure through the transfers to regions (transfer ke daerah/TKD in Indonesian) item was realised at IDR599.2 trillion, contracting 7.1%.

Suahasil also reported that the primary balance through 30 September 2026 reached IDR125.5 trillion. Budget financing was recorded at IDR462.0 trillion, or 67% of the total 2026 state budget financing of IDR689.1 trillion. (rig)
