JAKARTA, DDTCNews - Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, has stated that no dividends from the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Badan Pengelola Investasi/BPI in Indonesian) Danantara are accounted for as state revenue in the 2026 state budget.

Suahasil revealed that the budget posture and revenue targets in the 2027 state budget, which has just been enacted into law, also do not record dividends from the state-owned enterprise (SOE) superholding as a revenue component of state treasury.

"At present, I am working with the 2026 state budget, which includes no Danantara dividends. I am also working on preparing the 2027 state budget, which likewise includes no Danantara dividends; they are not recorded," he said on Thursday (8/10/2026).

Suahasil noted that Danantara's dividends should not be viewed solely as funds or profit remitted to the state. In his view, the scale of profits generated by Danantara ought to be regarded as an economic benefit.

He considered that Danantara's success should also be measured by the economic impact delivered to society through its projects and investment activities.

"The most significant dividend from Danantara is its work; what its work agenda is, what projects it intends to undertake and what activities are designed and will be carried out within the community," he said.

Before the government established BPI Danantara, dividends received from SOEs were recorded as non-tax state revenue (penerimaan negara bukan pajak/PNBP in Indonesian). Since the issuance of Law 1/2025, those SOE dividends are remitted to Danantara.

For information, President Prabowo Subianto had previously planned to transfer Danantara's profits of IDR120 trillion into the state treasury. The idea was put forward by Prabowo when he chaired a limited cabinet meeting attended by ministers last September. (rig)
