Official! Parliament Appoints 3 Tax Court Justice Candidates
<p>The atmosphere at the ratification of 11 Supreme Court justices and 3 ad hoc justices of the Supreme Court (MA) at the House of Representatives Building, Tuesday (18/8/2026).</p>

JAKARTA, DDTCNews - The House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat/DPR in Indonesian), through a plenary session, has formally approved 11 Supreme Court (Mahkamah Agung/MA in Indonesian) justice candidates and 3 ad hoc justice candidates who passed the fit and proper test before Commission III of the House.

Of the 11 justice candidates declared to have passed the fit and proper test, 3 are candidates for the State Administrative Court (tata usaha negara/TUN in Indonesian) chamber specialising in taxation.

"We now put to the honourable plenary session of the Council whether the report of Commission III of the House on the fit and proper test for the Supreme Court justice candidates and ad hoc justice candidates can be approved?" asked House Deputy Speaker, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, before striking the gavel at today's plenary session, Tuesday (18/8/2026).

The three tax state administrative court justice candidates who formally received approval as Supreme Court justices are:

  1. LY Hari Sih Avianto
  2. Maftuh Effendi
  3. Yeheskiel Minggus Tiranda

Further, the criminal chamber justice candidates approved by the House are:

  1. H. Syamsul Arief
  2. Sugiyanto
  3. Sudharmawatiningsih
  4. Dhifla Wiyani

Next, the civil chamber justice candidates approved by the House are:

  1. Sobandi
  2. Nurnaningsih

Finally, the religious chamber justice candidates who received approval from the House include:

  1. Musthofa
  2. Mamat Ruhimat

Regarding the ad hoc justice candidates, 2 human rights (hak asasi manusia/HAM in Indonesian) ad hoc justice candidates and 1 corruption crime (tindak pidana korupsi/Tipikor in Indonesian) ad hoc justice candidate were approved by the DPR, namely:

  1. Edwin Partogi Pasaribu (Human Rights)
  2. Roki Panjaitan (Human Rights)
  3. Sudiyo (Corruption)

"The Council leadership extends congratulations to the Supreme Court justice candidates and ad hoc justice candidates. We hope that you will carry out your duties with full dedication, professionalism, integrity and trustworthiness," said Dasco. (rig)
