JAKARTA, DDTCNews — The tax target for next year has been proposed at IDR2,591.4 trillion, representing growth of 12.1% compared with the tax revenue outlook for this year of IDR2,310.8 trillion.

Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, stated that with this target, the tax ratio for next year will reach 9.3% of gross domestic product (GDP).

By contrast, the customs and excise target for 2027 has been proposed at IDR320.6 trillion, a decrease of 1.2% compared with the customs and excise outlook for this year.

"You can see the ratio to GDP is 9.3% for tax, whilst customs and excise stands at 1.1% [of GDP]," said Purbaya at the press conference for the Financial Note and Draft State Budget 2027, as quoted on Friday (14/8/2026).

According to Purbaya, there remains room for the government to increase the tax ratio by improving the manner in which the authorities collect tax.

"If I succeed in improving the way we collect tax this year through an improved tax ratio, there is still upside potential in tax collection next year," said Purbaya.

On another note, the state revenue target in the draft state budget 2027 has been proposed at IDR3,426 trillion, up 6.8% compared with the 2026 outlook. The said revenue target comprises tax revenues of IDR2,908 trillion, non-tax state revenues (penerimaan negara bukan pajak/PNBP in Indonesian) of IDR517.4 trillion and grants of IDR0.7 trillion.

The tax revenue target has grown by 10.5% compared with the 2026 outlook, whilst the PNBP target has fallen by 10% compared with the PNBP outlook for this year. (rig)
