JAKARTA, DDTCNews - The Ministry of Finance has recorded tax revenue of IDR1,607.6 trillion through September 2026.

Tax revenue grew by 24.1% compared with the same period last year. This realisation is equivalent to 68.2% of the IDR2,357.7 trillion target set in the 2026 state budget.

"The factor, if you look at last year, tax revenue was minus 4.4%. There was indeed a factor whereby tax collection last year was not yet particularly strong," said Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, at the APBN Kita press conference on Friday (9/10/2026).

Suahasil elaborated that the realisation of non-oil-and-gas income tax reached IDR809.3 trillion, growing by 17.6%. Growth in non-oil-and-gas income tax revenue was driven by increased economic activity and stronger tax administration.

Meanwhile, realisations of value added tax (VAT) and sales tax on luxury goods (STLGs) reached IDR683.3 trillion, with growth of 38.6%. This revenue performance is in line with stronger domestic consumption and robust purchasing power.

Further, oil-and-gas income tax reached IDR43.6 trillion, rising by 128.2%, in line with rising crude oil prices. Land and building tax (L&B Tax) and other taxes amounted to IDR71.4 trillion, a decline of 24.8%.

Suahasil cited the factors driving tax revenue growth as including the increasingly effective implementation of coretax. At the same time, there is refund management applied to taxpayers in certain sectors, although this is now beginning to be eased.

"We understand that refund management will be eased shortly, and our colleagues at the Directorate General of Taxes have already begun to implement this relaxation," he said. (dik)
