JAKARTA, DDTCNews - The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) has detailed the contributions from intensification and extensification activities to tax revenue for the current year.

Director General of Taxes, Bimo Wijayanto, said intensification activities, comprising supervision, audit, collection and law enforcement, contributed up to 31.2% of tax revenue through to May 2026.

"Regarding intensification, revenue from supervision, audit, collection and law enforcement. Alhamdulillah, the revenue contribution from intensification is around 31.2% through to May 2026," said Bimo at a meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives, Monday (15/6/2026).

Extensification activities, comprising the addition of new taxpayers or the reactivation of dormant taxpayers, have also generated additional tax revenue of more than IDR20 trillion.

In detail, the reactivation of dormant taxpayers has generated additional revenue of IDR20.63 trillion. Extensification in the form of the addition of new taxpayers and new taxable persons (pengusaha kena pajak/PKP) has generated additional revenue of IDR912.9 billion and IDR1.96 trillion, respectively.

In addition to intensification and extensification, Bimo continued, tax revenue growth has also been driven by the coretax system, which is able to secure revenue through pre-populated annual tax return filing.

"Coretax has a pre-populated feature that can identify and consolidate all taxpayer transaction data, so the detection and supervision process can be increasingly effective in securing state revenue," said Bimo.

Thanks to this pre-populated feature, the DGT has recorded an increase in underpayments in annual tax returns filed by taxpayers. Underpayments in annual tax returns submitted by individual employee taxpayers were recorded at IDR9.09 trillion, up 80%.

Underpayments in annual tax returns filed by non-employee individual taxpayers were recorded at IDR3.1 trillion, up 970%. Underpayments in annual corporate tax returns reached IDR68.1 trillion, up 54%.

On another note, tax revenue realisation from January to May 2026 reached IDR834.4 trillion, representing an increase of 22.1%. (rig)
