The annual tax returns collected by the DGT were dominated by filings from individual taxpayers, totalling 12.27 million returns.
"The filing of annual income tax returns for the period up to 7 May 2026 was recorded at 13.19 million returns," said the DGT Director of Tax Dissemination, Service and Public Relations, Inge Diana Rismawanti, Friday (8/5/2026).
Inge noted that individual taxpayers who had filed their annual tax returns comprised 10.82 million employee individual taxpayers and 1.45 million non-employee individual taxpayers.
In addition, 883,544 corporate taxpayers filed their annual tax returns using rupiah and 1,477 corporate taxpayers used the United States dollar (USD).
In further detail, Inge reported that 14 oil and gas taxpayers had filed their returns using rupiah. Meanwhile, 207 oil and gas taxpayers filed their returns using the USD.
She further explained that there were also taxpayers filing annual tax returns based on a different accounting year, which are due from 1 August 2026. Those taxpayers comprised 28,756 corporate taxpayers using rupiah and 38 corporate taxpayers using the USD.
It should be noted that the DGT has granted a one-month relaxation for the filing of annual corporate income tax returns, until 31 May 2026. Taxpayers filing their returns during this relaxation period will not be subject to fine and interest penalties.
Moreover, the DGT has also waived penalties for late payment and/or remittance of Article 29 Income Tax. Such penalty waiver also applies to the settlement of the Article 29 Income Tax underpayment in the 2025 annual corporate income tax return that has been granted an extension (SPT Y).
The relaxation policy on the filing of the annual corporate income tax return has been regulated under the Director General of Taxes Decree KEP-71/PJ/2026. Meanwhile, the relaxation for the filing of returns for individual taxpayers ended last month.
Please note that the filing of annual income tax returns from the 2025 tax year onwards is conducted online via the coretax system. Before logging in to the coretax main portal, taxpayers must activate their respective coretax accounts.
To date, 19.12 million taxpayers have activated their coretax accounts, comprising 17.92 million individuals, 1.10 million corporate entities, 91,432 government agencies and 232 electronic commerce (e-commerce of perdagangan melalui sistem elektronik/PMSE in Indonesian) operators. (rig)
