Coretax Advances, Purbaya: Taxpayer Transactions Easier to Monitor
JAKARTA, DDTCNews - Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, has affirmed that the coretax system is increasingly sophisticated in recording, collecting and integrating taxpayer transaction data. This topic is among the reviews featured in national media today, Thursday (23/7/2026).
According to Purbaya, coretax makes administrative services and supervision of taxpayers more efficient. Moreover, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) can more easily detect discrepancies between tax paid and filed by taxpayers.
"Coretax can already capture taxpayer transactions, where payments are made and all manner of things. Come the time of the annual Income tax return, everything will be visible automatically," he said.
Purbaya also urged taxpayers to fulfil their tax obligations properly and correctly. He noted that the DGT can detect data discrepancies through coretax, making potential taxpayer non-compliance easier to identify.
"You can no longer fudge the figures. Your taxes are detected through coretax, transaction per transaction," he said.
In addition to relying on coretax, the tax authority can also request information, evidence or financial details from financial institutions for tax purposes. These provisions are set out in MoF Reg. 108/2025 and its implementing regulation, SE-9/PJ/2026.
Purbaya cited as an example that the DGT can request information relating to a taxpayer's bank account. He noted that such a measure is common practice for a tax authority seeking information on the fulfilment of tax obligations.
On the other hand, he affirmed that the government will not "disturb" taxpayers who have fulfilled their tax obligations pursuant to the applicable provisions, including paying and filing their taxes.
"That is standard practice [requesting information on a taxpayer's account]. If you have already paid your taxes, you can rest easy. Nothing will be done to you. As for data access, with coretax every transaction is bound to be captured and detected," he said.
In addition to that news, there is a review of the transition regarding the transfer of the Tax Court to the Supreme Court. Further, there is also a discussion on the 0% import duty facilities for LPG.
The following is a full review of tax articles.

Prevent Lay-offs: House Urges DGT to Grant Tax Payment Relief
Member of the House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat/DPR in Indonesian) Commission IX, Zainul Munasichin, hhas called on the government to facilitate companies to obtain tax payment relief or dispensation as one of the measures to prevent lay-offs (pemutusan hubungan kerja/PHK in Indonesian). He argued that the concession in the form of tax payment relief can help companies remain viable amidst economic pressures.
Such a policy could also ease companies' cash flow, thereby reducing the likelihood of lay-offs. The provisions on the instalment or deferral of tax payments are are set out in Article 113 of MoF Reg. 81/2024, as last amended by MoF Reg. 1/2026.
"If lay-offs can be prevented, then let us do so through incentives. For instance, if a company has tax arrears, we may grant relief or dispensation. It turns out that this helps the company survive for longer," he said. (DDTCNews)
