DDTC Professionals Study UHNWI and Family Office Tax in Singapore

JAKARTA, DDTCNews - DDTC is once again sending its professionals to Singapore to attend an intensive training programme on international taxation organised by the Tax Academy of Singapore in collaboration with the University of Liechtenstein.

On this occasion, DDTC Consulting Senior Specialist, Jason Renaldy, is to attend a masterclass covering the taxation of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI), family offices, trusts and cross-border investments.

The programme, entitled Masterclass on Cases in International Taxation of UHNWI, Family Offices and Trusts with Cross-Border Investments, will be held on 29–30 October 2026 at the Tax Academy of Singapore Hub.

Previously, Jason also attended an international tax training programme on UHNWI, family offices, trusts and cross-border investments together with DDTC Founder Danny Septriadi in Singapore in March 2026.

The masterclass provides an opportunity to deepen and update his knowledge in line with developments in international tax issues and practice.

Jason's participation in the programme is fully funded by DDTC with no service bond obligation. This forms part of DDTC's commitment to supporting the continuous development of its professionals' competencies.

Moreover, as private wealth management becomes increasingly global, the tax, ownership structure and compliance aspects relating to UHNWI, family offices, trusts and cross-border investments are also becoming ever more complex.

Through the masterclass, participants will gain a comprehensive analysis of various international tax aspects applicable to UHNWI with multi-jurisdictional wealth management and investment structures.

In addition, discussions will cover international tax frameworks, tax transparency and reporting, international tax planning and private wealth management structures. Participants will also examine the implications of the global minimum tax under Pillar Two.

On the first day, participants will explore the topic International Taxation of UHNWI with Family Offices and Cross-Border Investments: 360° Analysis. On the second day, the topic covered will be International Tax Planning and Compliance of UHNWI with Private Wealth Structures: 360° Analysis.

The programme is also supplemented by various case studies examining international tax, tax planning and compliance aspects for UHNWI in Asia and Europe. These case studies cover individuals from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Germany and other countries.

Participants will also explore family office structures and wealth management arrangements involving Singapore, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and the United Arab Emirates. All materials will be delivered by academics and practitioners with experience in international taxation, law and private wealth management.

One of the instructors is Professor Martin Wenz, Chair for Business Taxation and the Laws of International and Liechtenstein Taxation at the University of Liechtenstein.

Also presenting are Senior Partner at Dentons Rodyk & Davidson LLP Edmund Leow; Family Office COO at Tamarind Global Goh Eng Cher; and Counsel at Allen & Gledhill LLP Han Junwei.

Other speakers include Partner, Tax – Singapore at Forvis Mazars Chan Xue Pei; Partner at Dentons Rodyk & Davidson LLP Kevin Ng; Partner at East & Concord Partners Shanghai Joanna Jiang; and Tax Partner at Ganus Law Firm Shanghai Charlie Chai.

For DDTC, the participation of professionals in international training programmes is consistent with one of the firm's missions, namely to invest in human resources through the Human Resource Development Programme (HRDP).

This human resource development programme forms part of DDTC's efforts to realise its vision as a research-, technology- and knowledge-based tax institution that sets the standards and beyond.

Each year, DDTC provides its professionals with opportunities to attend various training programmes both domestically and abroad. Support for competency development is also provided through further education scholarships, including for postgraduate study at leading universities worldwide.

Meanwhile, DDTC Founder Darussalam stated that the participation of professionals in the masterclass programme is aimed at strengthening understanding of developments in international taxation.

The knowledge and perspectives gained from the programme are expected to support DDTC professionals in handling a wide range of international tax issues as well as in delivering services and advisory to clients to a standard that exceeds expectations. (rig)
